Washington, D.C., is APCO's worldwide corporate headquarters and headquarters for its North American operations. APCO opened its doors in 1984 with only one employee, Margery Kraus, who is still at the helm of the company serving as president and CEO. Today the Washington, D.C., office has more than 125 staff members, services 170 of APCO's more than 500 client accounts and is headed by Neal Cohen, who has been with the firm almost from its inception.
APCO's Washington, D.C., office is a dynamic mix of professionals, including former members of Congress, ambassadors, congressional and executive branch staff, as well as those with senior-level experience in politics, journalism, business and not-for-profit organizations. They often work cross-office on global accounts with staff throughout APCO's global network.
